Love Is A Sacrifice

The Knight’s Tale is written by Geoffrey Chaucer and was said to be written in the 14th century. Chaucer’s goal was to write 120 tales, but suddenly, he died before achieving his goal.
--Skip to the third paragraph for the short summary of the story.

I liked the story of the knight’s tale because it teaches us to be true to ourselves and not to cheat on others. It also teaches us to be honest, selfless, and be humble. Love is powerful that can change the lover's  physical appearance, the lover risks his life to win favor for his love, and he is inspired to do anything for love.

The story is about two men who fell in love with the same woman. These men are cousins who have sworn to be brothers. Let me name these characters. The two men are named as Palamon and Arcite while the woman, is Emilye. Emilye is so beautiful that the two men argued because of her. Palamon and Arcite became rivals. Both of them are very eager to marry Emilye. Arcite’s reason for marrying Emilye is money, while Palamon, on the other hand, really loves Emilye. They ended up with a competition that the first one to get out of prison will marry Emilye.  Arcite was the first one who is able to get out of prison. He worked at Emilye’s chamberlain and used the pseudonym, Philostrate. Seven years later, Palamon got out of the prison too. He then knew what Arcite did. When Palamon saw Arcite in the woods, they confronted each other claiming the right to Emilye. The next day, Arcite challenged Palamon. Duke Theseus was out that day and saw the two fighting. Palamon admitted to the duke that they both love Emilye. Theseus was about to kill them but Emilye and Hypolita, the wife of Theseus, came and stopped Theseus. The king told them that he will hold a competition fifty weeks from that day. Arcite won the competition but when he was about to take the hand of Emilye, the Earth trembles and he fell down from his horse. The duke called Palamon to marry Emilye since Arcite died. Athens is still mourning for the death of Arcite. Palamon and Emilye wore black clothes to symbolize that they haven't moved on yet.

A True Hero

A hero is someone who sacrifices his/her self to give someone what they need and also, to give someone happiness.

For me, I’ve got five heroes. These heroes are someone who keeps themselves busy just
to take good care of people they love. They are also the people who guides me to the path that I should take. These heroes are my parents, my two guardians and most especially, God.

First are my parents. I consider my parents as heroes because they are doing anything just to send me to a good school so that I would be able to learn well so that I would have a good future. My mother went abroad just to find a good job so that she would be able to help my father in supporting me for my studies. They also give me things like good clothes and material things that make me feel happy. Other than the things they give me, their love is enough for me to be happy.

Second are my guardians. My guardians take good care of me and guided me ever since I was born. Early in the morning, they wake up just to prepare my breakfast and to help me prepare the things that I need before going to school. They keep on helping me even though I’ve done something wrong and even they are mad at me. Even though they scold me for my wrong doings, I appreciate their advices because I know that deep within them, they want me to become a better person. For that, they make me feel so important to them.

And last is God. God is always there to help me with my problems and guides me in whatever I do. He protects me from being harmed and being in trouble. I am so thankful to God because he blesses me and my family a lot. Even though we face circumstances, he is always there to help us. And when we feel like giving up, he gives us courage so that we could keep moving forward.

2000 and 100,000 thousand Philippine banknote

i wanna ask you guys if u know something about the 2000 and 100,000 Philippine banknote...
i will show you how they look like..here

The 2,000 Philippine peso bill measuring 216 mm x 133 mm was produced by the Central Bank of the Philippines in 300,000 pieces only. This banknote was one of the centennial commemorative legal tenders.
In this banknote, you would see that the former President of the Philippine Republic, Joseph E. Estrada, is giving his oath of office in the historic Barasoain Church.

The next one is the 100,000 Philippine peso bill. Here is how it looks like...

The 100,000-peso centennial note, measuring 8.5"x14", is accredited by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest legal tender note in terms of size. 1,000 pieces were issued during the celebration of the centennial of Philippine independence in 1998.
